Egglo Eggs.com - TOS Review

We always do an Easter Egg hunt- it usually takes on a life of its own and could really be used as a logic exam. We might actually have more fun hiding the eggs than certain people have finding them. Nonetheless, I am also extremely interested in good, solid Biblical teaching about Biblical and Church holidays. Enter Egglo Entertainment.

For this review I received the following:
Egglo Review
The eggs are interesting in that they are "chargeable"- either by exposing them to sunlight, fluorescent or incandescent light for between 20-45 minutes.  The eggs charge up just fine but don't hold the charge for long. If you are going to use them for a hunt, you are going to want to plan well. Once they charge, they are super cool - my kids had a great time just charging them and hiding them around the house!- and a great object lesson about how Jesus is the light of the world.

We also received the book, The Egg-cellent Easter Adventure . Both kids read it, as did I. This story is about the fantastical adventure of three kids, whom all overcome character flaws by applying the Scripture that they discover on their adventure; at the end of the book they have a glow in the dark Easter Egg Hunt; whetting the readers appetite for their own glow in the dark hunt!

The Egg-cellent Easter Adventure (book audio download) is the audio book version that compliments the book, complete with chimes to indicate page-turning for your emergent reader.
Also included was the The Egg-cellent Easter Adventure Program Guide. This is a 60 page step-by-step curriculum guide that is designed to help churches or individuals put on a unique glow-in-the-dark Easter event. It has printables, food suggestions, teaching points, games, decoration ideas, discussion questions, lovely Cross Easter egg cut-ours and other ideas to use the eggs for activities other than for Easter. Because it's down loadable you can print only what you need.

The curriculum concept is designed and geared towards churches, youth groups, co-op and families, specifically targeting kids ages 6-13. My 11 year was very excited about the eggs and the scrolls and charged the eggs immediately upon arrival. This would be a great program to implement at a faith based co-op, Awanas program or faith based scout group.

While we found the concept and related object lesson of this program to be really cool, it's a bit spendy for home-use, unless you are planning a fun Easter Party or will be re-purposing the eggs and the program for other celebrations and object lessons. We found the program is really geared to younger kids- with Flower (age 11) really at the upper end of the interest level. I also think pre-schoolers would definitely love the Eggs and Activities!
