Knowledge Quest is a wonderful homeschooling company that offers maps, time-line figures and historical information for the insatiably curious. We've been long time fans of this company and were thrilled to have the opportunity to preview the newest in their Brave Explorers Every Child Should Know series!

Sacagawea (Brave Explorers Every Child Should Know) Complete PDF e-book
$3.99 for the complete set. Recommended for ages 10+ but I believe it would be completely suitable for children much younger.

We are big history buffs around here. Currently my youngers are doing 2 history programs for the sheer love of it. That being said, Cub is at the age where he would prefer to choose his own reading material. He wasn't exactly thrilled when I assigned him this book. But, with the right motivation (no going outside till he'd read 2 chapters) he saw the light, and I had the last laugh. He read the whole book straight through (he a big time and very fast reader!). He LOVED it. We've studied Lewis and Clark (living on the Trail and all) and he knew a great deal about Sacagawea already from a film we'd seen. No matter. The only reason he paused reading was to come downstairs to wow me with yet another, "Momma, did you know....?"

Flower is reading it at a more leisurely pace, and enjoying every moment. There is so much to learn about this amazing young woman and her extraordinary life and Knowledge Quest imparts that information with aplomb!
