Grooming the Next Generation

Grooming the Next Generation for Success by Dani Johnson

I rarely buy books but I am so glad that I purchased this one! Dani Johnson is a millionaire and life coach. This book is all about how to coach your kids to greatness and help them to succeed at whatever it is that God has called them to! The first half of the book is about why to train our kids to greatness. The nugget of gold here is the 98% rule.

"I always establish the distinction between two populations- 2 % versus 98% of the population. The statistics are scary. They affirm that the vast majority of people, 98%, reach the end of their lives having not accomplished their original goals. In other words, by the age of 65, this population is dead or dead broke. But the  rest of the population, 2%, is doing financially well at the same age....the vast majority of people won't do what it takes to succeed...I essentially teach my kids and clients to find out what everybody else is doing, and then, do the exact opposite....Just look at the general population and ask yourself, "Are they succeeding? Find out what the vast majority of the population is doing and go in the opposite direction. If you do, there's a pretty good chance you will succeed in your endeavors."
Johnson goes on to talk about 9 Strategies
Spiritual Equipping
  • Self Image
  • People Skills
  • Correction and Accountability
  • Prevention
  • Work Vs. Play
  • Finanicial Responsibility
  • Dreams and Goals
  • Nutrition
Johnson is a crazy, God loving, tough love Momma. My kinda woman. I love her take on parenting and child rearing. Her mantra to her kids, "I am here for you to succeed. I am here to gird you up so that you can be the best that you can be."

This is definitely one of my fav parenting books of all times. Fantastic stuff. Get it. Read it. Live it.
