Dad & Corinne |
My Dad passed away early yesterday morning. He died quickly and unexpectedly, still working, reading, involved in life.
What is the essence of a person- what they did, how they lived, their characteristics- it's finished when a person dies. Like the body of work that defines who one is, death ensures that it can never be amended. What went before is all that you have to hold on to. The things said or done, the luxury of adding to reducing, is no longer yours. What was stands. 20 days ago marked the first year anniversary of Sue's death. And now the mourning begins again. Flower said to me, in her 7 year old innocence, "Why are your relatives dropping like flies?" and in the next breath, "Grandpa did love Jesus, didn't he?" Pragmatic concern is a hallmark of my side of the family. Got that from Dad.

I am so, so sorry! "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." Hugs to you and your family during this terrible time.
My prayers for peace and comfort are with your family. I will also be praying for your safety while travelling.
The picture is precious.
